Day 1: Travel from Surabaya to Lodging Near Tumpak Sewu

Our team will pick you up from Juanda International Airport, Hotel or Trainstation in Surabaya East Java Indonesia then drive you to Banyuwangi city (The city of Ijen Volcano Located) and it takes about 7 hours drive.

Our journey begins in Surabaya City on the first day. If you are staying at a hotel in Surabaya, we suggest starting at 8 am to ensure there is enough time to explore Jodipan Rainbow Village in Malang.

It’s best to start the trip before noon as the travel time from Surabaya to Tumpak Sewu is approximately 5 hours.

The drive from Surabaya to Malang takes around 3 hours, and upon arrival, we will visit the noteworthy Jodipan Rainbow Village.

This vibrant site in the town is truly captivating and worth exploring, typically requiring around 50 minutes for a visit.

Following the Rainbow village experience, they will accompany you to check into the pre-booked accommodation we have arranged for you in Lumajang.

FYI: If you still have enough time, we’d love to show you another hidden gem in Lumajang. It’s the stunning Kapas Biru Waterfall! We’ll take you to the panorama viewpoint for a truly breathtaking view.

Day 2: Tumpak Sewu Waterfall – Accommodation in Bondowoso Ijen

On the second day of the trip, we will begin at 5 am.

Upon arrival at the Tumpak Sewu Waterfall area, a guide will take you to the Panorama viewpoint to see 180 degrees of Tumpak Sewu Waterfall.

Once you’ve seen the view from the Panorama viewpoint, we will head down to the base of the waterfall for more photos from different angles.

The descent path may be wet and slippery with bamboo stairs and a new cement ladder, as well as dripping water onto rocks with a sturdy rope for support.

Be sure to wear appropriate footwear and carry a waterproof bag. This activity will last around 3 hours, depending on how much you enjoy the waterfall. It is essential to bring mineral water and snacks.

After enjoying the waterfall, we will proceed to our next destination, Ijen Crater.

The journey from Tumpak Sewu Waterfall to your hotel in Bondowoso will take approximately 5 hours. You’ll be staying at a hotel in Bondowoso for the night.

Day 3: Mount Ijen Tour, Blue Fire – Hotel Near Mt. Bromo

At 01:00 AM midnight, they will go to Patuding (Ijen Base camp) for a 1-hour drive.

Arrive at the Ijen parking area at 02:00 AM, and start the climb to the Ijen rim for a 2-hour walk to view the stunning sunrise and the Ijen crater lake from the summit.

Enjoy all the stunning views of the sunrise and Ijen Crater Lake. At 07.00 AM, return to the Paltuding base camp, drive to the hotel to have breakfast, take a shower, and prepare to check out.

At 10.00 AM, check out, then drive to the hotel near Mount Bromo for a 5-hour drive. At 05.00 PM, check in at a Homestay/Hotel near Bromo.

Day 4: Bromo Tour, Bromo Sunrise and Trek – Surabaya Airport

At 03:00 AM, a 4WD jeep will take us to the Pananjakan sunrise viewpoint of Bromo—a 45-minute drive, then wait for sunrise.

At 05.00 AM, enjoy the stunning Mount Bromo sunrise tour.

At 06.30 AM, head back to your 4WD Jeep, and continue to the Bromo crater with a stop at the Sea of Sand (Jeep parking lot).

At 07.00 AM, start the climb to the summit of Bromo for a 45-minute trek.

At 08.00 AM, arrive at the Bromo Crater rim, enjoy the stunning Bromo crater views until satisfied, and continue the Sea Sand Tour for a 10-minute drive by Jeep.
